If there is someone that you feel has made a negative impact on your life, choose to let them off the hook. Forgiveness isn’t about them; it’s about releasing yourself from whatever has been encumbering YOU by not forgiving them.

Try this…

“So-and-so, you owe me nothing & I forgive you.”

For most of us, blaming someone else for our misery and poor choices satisfies the longing to be made right.

It takes a lot of courage to forgive someone, especially for the unforgiveable. Forgiveness can be done a number of ways. You could write it in a letter. Sharing that letter with a friend is very helpful, then either mail it or burn it, either work.

Simply writing out the statement, “____________, I forgive you for, “xyz”, you owe me nothing, and you are not responsible for me or my actions. I forgive you.” Then just leave it like that in your journal. You could write in a dozen names and forgive them all, and all will be forgiven, just by writing in your journal.

Perhaps it is time to pull up the Big Girl Panties and just do it!

On December 1, 2006, six women from diverse backgrounds came together to take a very unique trip: a 17-day intensive pilgrimage to volunteer in rural South Africa. Prior to the journey, these six women did not know each other. However they all shared one thing in common: they had all suffered the death of a child. “Motherland” is a documentary film that reveals what happened, and the lives that were forever changed, on this journey of hope and healing.

Thank you Jennifer, for the women’s lives that have been touched by this film and for spending time on womensville radio sharing what it was like filming.

As women approach forty, there is an inner knowing of who we really are, who we’re not, and who we won’t ever be. There is also a strong force of knowing who we must be, based on that knowledge.

My challenge to you all is to find a way to tap into the one thing that makes your heart sing like no other. And let it simmer. Let that feeling of bliss melt into the rest of your life. There is nothing more beautiful than being with a woman who is dancing in that bliss and sharing that joy with others. You are one of those women. Share your joy with us and your loved ones. You are beautiful.

Top Ten Reasons to Access Your Bliss:

10.It takes your focus off of yourself and onto a bigger picture.

9.It makes your own problems look smaller when focusing on contributing.

8.It becomes part of the legacy you will leave behind.

7.It exposes who you are to the world around you.

6.It gives you a chance to tap into Gods Plan for you.

5.It gives you a chance to acknowledge your natural strengths.

4.You get to make new friends who are like-minded.

3.You may be able to create your dream job out of it.

2.You can write a book about it and share that with the world.

The number one reason to tap into that state of bliss…..

BECAUSE YOU CAN.

Once upon a time there was a King with a beautiful daughter whom he loved dearly. The King showered his Princess with love and affection. But because he loved his daughter so much the Queen resented the Princess, her own daughter and arranged for her to be kidnapped by a fierce Dragon.

The Dragon met the Princess one-day in the far away castle grounds and pretended to be injured. The Princess being gentle and kind, offered to help the poor Dragon but as soon as she got close, the Dragon swooped her up in his claws and flew her away from the castle.

For years, the King was unable to see his Princess daughter as the Dragon kept her locked in a tower, which he guarded day and night. The Princess would cry for her father and cried because her own mother had been so cruel and cold hearted. The Dragon told her no one would rescue her since everyone knew he was the fiercest Dragon in all the land. The Princess felt foolish for being so naïve and vowed to become a strong woman so no one could ever fool her again. She began reading and educating herself so that she would become smart and strong enough to be able to escape on her own.

One day a brave Knight came across the fierce dragon and noticed he had a beautiful woman trapped in a tower. The brave Knight didn’t care how fierce the Dragon was, he fought the Dragon to rescue the beautiful woman. Once he slayed the Dragon however and broke through the tower door, he was very much surprised by what he encountered. The Princess, rather than thanking the Knight and kissing him like he had assumed, said:

“ You know, I wasn’t going to wait around for a Knight to show up one day and rescue me, I didn’t need you to slay the Dragon for me. I had already made plans to escape on my own. “

Shocked and confused by what he just heard he meekly offered to take the Princess back to her castle on his noble steed.

The entire trip back, the Princess sat on the horse, reminding the Knight how she didn’t need him and if her plan hadn’t worked to escape she could have found another Knight to help her because she was a smart woman now. She told the Knight the story of how she had been foolish to believe the Dragon in the first place but that no one was ever going to fool her again because she was a strong, confident, beautiful Princess after all.

When the Knight and the Princess arrived back at the castle, the King was so pleased to see his daughter he decided to throw a celebratory party announcing the Princess’ return. Before the celebration the King sat with his daughter and announced to her:

“ I would like to offer the brave Knight that slayed the Dragon your hand in marriage, how would you feel about that?“

The Princess replied: “ Yes of course, I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him. I never thought anyone would be brave enough to come to my rescue. I was already planning my escape but the Knight has been the only man brave enough and strong enough, to ever even try to slay the Dragon. Oh and the Knight is so handsome too father, I did my very best to convince him how independent, strong and confident I was so he didn’t think I was weak and foolish!!”

At the celebration however, when the King asked the Knight forward to thank him for saving his Princess and to offer him her hand in marriage, do you know what the Knight replied?

“ Thank you my King. Although beautiful, your Princess doesn’t need a man. She is fully capable on her own and I could never compete with her strength and independence. I’m sorry sire but I would rather marry a Princess where I can feel like the Knight and not the other way around. ”
