Lisa Hein was born in Florida and has has two sisters, Gia and Susan and one brother, Robert. Their family consists of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and grand-dogs. They are all very close even though they live all throughout the country.

She says that her father and mother did an amazing job raising them because there was a clear understanding of how the family dynamic worked. It was understood that ‘Yes’ meant yes and ‘No’ meant no. That simple!

The other thing that stands out in her mind is that she never remembers ordering her parents around to meet her needs. She says, that at times, we barely had enough money to buy food , and at a very young age, learned that if you wanted something you earned it.Tweet

Something I’ve always felt needed some addressing was the fact that there are millions of women who are marrying for reason’s other than to start a family. To be honest, (and this is easy for me to say as an outsider I realize,) but I’ve always felt women marrying for companionship at a later age, in particular after a failing divorce or two, was a bad idea, ludicrous even. After spending some time going through the Garter Brides website and watching their You Tube clips, I have a deeper understanding of why a woman would want to settle into a relationship for life, when she already has one. Indeed this is a completely different context and paradigm than marrying for love and to start a family in your 20′s or thirties. For those of you reading this that are over 35 and looking to marry for life, when you already have one, I’d recommend you spend some time reading the Garter Brides Book and visiting their website before you take the plunge; because this indeed is an entirely different ball game ladies. Lets not use the only skills we have. Time to upgrade your knowlege on husband seeking and let go of what you knew from the past about attracting the right man for you.
